Exploring the World – One Image at a Time

Birds

PWP week of May 28 – June 4 23

As I’m writing, we are under a head warning. Not much activities outside today. Looks like I will need to be setting up my Studio 13. For this week we have dogs, Chase is working into being a great model. Found some flowers, and neat fungi. There is a bit of creative metal working and a few winged friends. This week is a real smorgasbord of shots. Enjoy. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP Week of June 28 2020

This week was a week of celebration.  July 1st  for my Canadian friends and July 4th for my American friends.  Hope all had a good time.  I spent July 1st home with my family. The only fireworks was the discussion on what to have for supper!  We had warm/hot weather and thunderstorms this week.  The shots of the clouds are straight out of the camera.  No magic editing.  The clouds looked fierce but we only had minimum wind and 3/10th of rain.  My assistant the trail camera caught a whitetail doe and her fawn and two of the bucks that spend time in our area. The Boy and I went on a road trip one day.  Saw some cattle and a moose on a hill that someone had built .  Looks pretty realistic. One evening when we were out and about, there were turkey vultures flying over head.  That does give a person a funny feeling!  On one of our hot days The Boy and I spent time in Studio 13 experimenting with different props and backgrounds.  I had a good time, felt good getting the creative parts of the brain working.  The Boy had a good nap!

All in all it was a good week. Hope to see you next week.

PWP Week of June 21, 2020

Happy Sunday!  My week went fast, how was yours.  This week we have some action shots.  Flying ducks and bees; running coyote and deer.  My assistant the Trail camera caught some great ones of the deer that live in our pasture.  We are pretty dry here and a caught Quill having a dust bath.  Think he was trying to impress the ladies.  One evening we had an unwanted guest on our front lawn.  This shot was taken thru the window as I wasn’t going outside. Went on a road trip but the only shots I have from it are the ones of the mule deer doe in action.  The driver didn’t see the photo opportunities I did and wasn’t inclined to stop.  I counted about ten shots that would have fit in here.  Oh well. Hope you enjoy these.  I’m hoping to spend some time in Studio 13 being creative this week.

Come back next week and see what manifested.

Feathered Friends

I have two feeders on trees just outside my kitchen window. For most of the day there is a lot of activity around them. Watching the antics of the birds, mostly Red Polls (part of the Finch family) makes doing the dishes more enjoyable. A Downy woodpecker drops by once in awhile also. I’ve posted a few photos of the visitors in The Gallery –  “From My Kitchen Window”.
