PWP week of Aug 27 – Sept 2 23
September has arrived. And it’s a warm. Combining is in full swing. A couple days of rest was has we had some rain. I’ve posted shots of the young hawk that has been sitting on the fence post. Then it move to the road and wouldn’t move when a car passed. It hadn’t been seen for sometime and I feared the worst but I finally saw him sitting in the field. I waited and then it flew away and I knew it would be fine. One of the pet stores I shop at has their Halloween costumes for pets out on display already. Some are cute. I don’t think my two would appreciate being dressed up. I stopped by the Water Fowl Park in the city one morning. City Canada geese are sure loud, aggressive and bossy. There were a few ducks but mostly geese. The pelicans were smart enough not to hang around the park. Chase has discovered looking out the upstairs bedroom window gives him a bird’s eye view. Got a few action shots of him. Of course! On one of the smoky days, there’s been quite a few, I caught a crop duster plane out desiccating fields. He comes in pretty low. Not sure what the trucker thought. As you will see, our house is prepared for the cold season. Hope you get out and enjoy the long weekend. PWP week of Apr 30 – May 6 23
This week if a feast week. I have lots to share. The usual environmental shots are included. Things that have caught my interest. How man flavors of milkshakes can there be? The lovely little purple flowers are out. Chase and I went hunting them one day Geese are on the move. The shot of Chase and Ninja was taken from a distance thru a garden window to is on the soft side. I included it because I liked it. Caught a shot of the famous V formation. Of course there are shots of dogs and horses. What really padded this weeks post was a visit to the Water Fowl Part in Regina. It was mainly Canadian geese but did find a couple of duck, some pigeons and a rabbit went scooting by as I was leaving. I have never seen red catkins before. Was told they grown on either a poplar tree or aspen. There was a goose feeding in the water and it could kept it’s head under for a long time. Enjoy. PWP Week of June 14 2020
Happy Sunday. We hope you had a good week. The Boy and I did. For a while I’ve been planning putting a photo studio in the barn. It’s not very elaborate but I am having fun with it. The Boy lays and watching as I change background, bring out more props, make adjustments, probably thinking going for a walk taking pictures would be more fun! It stays cool in the barn, so it is a good place for both of us to hang out when it gets hot out or windy! On Tuesday a friend/ photographer came over and we practiced with props and backgrounds. She has a very creative mind and wonderful props. I hope she visits again! We used old calendars for backgrounds and they worked wonderful. If you have old calendars lying around needing a home, please contact me. Prairiewindphotography3@gmail.com I promise they will be treated well. My iris plant is providing blooms now. I spent some time trying different background with one of the blossoms. Scrapbooking pages work great for these backgrounds. A while ago I acquired a Lensbaby Composer with various optics. I did some practicing with it once I assembled the studio. I am looking forward to doing more. I already have some favourite optics. The Boy and I went on a road trip. Came across the goose and duck family. Imagine a family of nine. The wild roses are in full bloom. Each morning as we walk I find more to photography. Soon they will be gone and something will take their place. My assistant – the trail camera caught the curious young buck. We have three bucks and a doe that visit often. The only credit I can take for this one is positioning the camera!
I hope you enjoy this week’s collection. See you next week!
