Mid Summer Festival 2026 edition
It’s hard to believe August has arrived! Doesn’t seem that long since school was just let out for the summer and the wild roses were blooming. This weekend we celebrated mid summer. Once again the Mid Summer Festival in Fort Qu’Appelle didn’t disappoint. There were old favorite vendors and quite a few new booths. I spent an hour wandering and enjoying everything I saw. Visiting with friends I met as I wandered the grounds. I hope you enjoy the selection of photos I’m sharing with you. They are an excellent example of what there was to see. Enjoy! PWP Week of July 30 – August 5 23
Wow — the weeks are flying by. Summer is half over. Sad to say but I’m starting to see signs of fall in my area. Golden rod is blooming; bull rushes in full glory, leaves are changing colors. Our two hummingbirds, which you’ll see, seem to be fueling up. All way to early. This week includes shots of — dogs, Josie and Sassy, the moon, lentils – does anyone make lentil soup. This is what they look like before they reach the pot! I’ve included a few shots from a Mid Summer festival I attended. Great day. A couple tracks to see if I have any trackers following me. Pretty easy to figure out. I don’t know if is the time of year but the skies lately have been gorgeous. One lone horse photo and this would be of my boy Quill. Hope you enjoy this weeks selection. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. Scandinavian Festival 2023
I attended the Scandinavian midsummer’s party in a small Saskatchewan village. It was fun and colorful. Midsummer is one of the most widely celebrated holidays in Sweden. Traditionally a May pole is raised which people gather around to dance and sing. Some people wear folk costumes to honor their regions while celebrating. Tiny trolls were hidden all over the grounds. I think I found most of them. They were much happier than the trolls they are named after. Flat bread was for sale. Tents were set up with Viking and Swedish artifacts. Here are some of the sites I saw. Enjoy.
