I had the privilege of seeing a herd of about 40 white tail deer. Spring is slowing arriving in my area and the deer are on the move. For awhile it was a pretty decent winter for them, then the snow started to pile up deep and hard. In some areas on hills the wind cleared the snow away and the deer were able to graze. I hope you enjoy these graceful animals.
If you are familiar with Facebook, you will have seen the challenges people send out — post a photo each day for ten days and nominate another person to do the same each day. I usually avoid these as I don’t have ten people to nominate. A friend approached me about doing this and she agreed that I could post the ten photos without nominating anyone. Here are the ten photos that I posted.
This week’s content is a bit different. Still my photos but they are photos from previous years. The photos here are shots used for calendars for bygone years. Hence the fancy borders. It was bitter sweet going thru the files. Brought up lots of memories, some of them sad as I still really miss my four legged friends. We had a lot of good times. The shots with all the numbers on the bottom, are from my trusty assistance the trail camera. I did use my camera this week but the shots I got were Christmas decorations and no matter how the stores think, I think it is to early for Christmas content. Enjoy! This week was this Photographers dream week. Remember I talked about feast and famine? Well this was definitely a feast week. I attended a day of gymkhana and got shots of the stars of the arena. A few contestants also. The crops are turning fast and I love the variants in color. We have buffalo living close and we visited them a couple of times. Chase wasn’t impressed. We found a few bushes of buffalso berries. They make great jelly for pork! The hawk you will see is a very upset mother as her child just sat on a fence post as I approached. She was not impressed. One morning on our mini tour we saw a mule deer doe and her youngster. On the creek near home there is a congregation of pelicans and a couple of herons. Hope you enjoy this weeks offering as much as we enjoyed finding the shots. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. As the rabbit in Alice in wonder land said — I’m late I’m late. All I an say is that sometimes life gets in the way. I was still driving into the city most days this week so I didn’t get much of a chance for creativity. Mother Nature helped out by sending a mule deer doe and her twins. They have taken residence just north of home. I’ve seen them a number of time. And I remembered to leave a camera in the car. Megs came for an Easter visit and I was able to get some Easter photos of her and her friend. It’s always fun to have an infant photo shot. My Easter plush friend came out of the box for a quick play session. There are no sky shots or dog shots this week. Happy Easter to all. Hope you enjoy this weeks contribution.
