If you are familiar with Facebook, you will have seen the challenges people send out — post a photo each day for ten days and nominate another person to do the same each day. I usually avoid these as I don’t have ten people to nominate. A friend approached me about doing this and she agreed that I could post the ten photos without nominating anyone. Here are the ten photos that I posted.
Late again, I apologize. It was National/International, I saw it as both, Dog day so I was working on a good shot of the kids. I ended up using one I’d taken with my phone awhile ago. However, you get to see a few of the practice shots. Chase is turning into quite the model. Close to home there is a field of buffalo, I’m sure you have figured that out by now. The bull was close to the fence on one of our drives and he is BIG. I don’t understand why the tourists in Yellowstone want to get near them. The buffalo are scary. So are the tourists. There must be a colony or gathering of Mourning Doves along our route, as there are always a lot of they flying around. I did manage to get some on the fence as you will see. Road trip, road trip. Went for a Sunday drive with friends and ended up a flea market. Lots of goodies. If you ever come upon Fuller Moon Walker bath salts and like baths. Buy some, they are wonderful. That’s it for this week. Enjoy. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. Click on the image and then right click to move thru the gallery.
This week was this Photographers dream week. Remember I talked about feast and famine? Well this was definitely a feast week. I attended a day of gymkhana and got shots of the stars of the arena. A few contestants also. The crops are turning fast and I love the variants in color. We have buffalo living close and we visited them a couple of times. Chase wasn’t impressed. We found a few bushes of buffalso berries. They make great jelly for pork! The hawk you will see is a very upset mother as her child just sat on a fence post as I approached. She was not impressed. One morning on our mini tour we saw a mule deer doe and her youngster. On the creek near home there is a congregation of pelicans and a couple of herons. Hope you enjoy this weeks offering as much as we enjoyed finding the shots. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. It was a decent week. Nothing exciting, no major trips. Josie was the model of choice this week. She did well. Loves the water as you can see. Scruffy dropped by and allowed me to dress him up with glasses. It was a pretty bright day. Of course during the photo shot the wind decided to join us and ruffled his hair some. He tolerated that as well. Chase figured he should join in. Guess he figured someone was taking this job. The beautiful quilt was a gift from a friend and as it was wash day and the sun was out, it got to hang out on the line. Someone drew cut images a side walk in town. Wonder if anyone plays the game. I took the shots of the beautiful flowers on a trip into town (the furthest the went all week). That’s it for this week. Not exciting but pleasant. Happy August 1. Happy long weekend to my Canadian friends. And a good friend is celebrating a birthday. Birthday wishes coming your way.
This week’s collection is mixture of images. There was no travelling, spent some time in Studio 13. Practicing with my Lensbaby Composer. Our flowers are starting to bloom so I have lots to practice on. I’ve included a few barrel racing and rodeo ones taken the weekend of July 18. The one of the steer wrestle did quite well on Instagram. My assistant the Trail Camera caught an encounter between the resident fox and our visiting raccoon.
I’m thinking of creating a “Western Images” page of rodeo, barrel racing, western accessories and horses. And a “Treasures and Keepsake” page. I’ve included a few of these shots in this week’s collection.
Another week in the book. It was a hot humid one here. The Boy and I spent a lot of time in the house. Sunday wasn’t too bad, which was a good thing as I spent a few more hours photographing the rodeo slack. Lots of pictures of cowgirls and cowboys riding gorgeous horses. The trail camera did an awesome job of capturing our deer and the foxes that share space with us. I did manage to get pictures myself of a doe and later two fawns. Due to the high temperatures we spent some time creating in Studio 13. I hope you enjoy this week’s photos. We had fun taking them and editing them. Till next week!
This week marks the half way point of July. Summer is going by really fast. Most days the weather doesn’t realize it’s summer. Nights and mornings are pretty cool. The Boy and I went on a rode trip and broadened our horizons and add new content. Found some more wall murals in a small town. These are pretty old but I think they are still wonderful. My assistant the trail camera took some wonderful shots of three whitetail does. I’ve included quite a few of them as there are so beautiful. Such big eyes. The first rodeo since Convid9 appeared happened this weekend. I went and photographed some of the slack Saturday AM. It was a night rodeo so that makes it a no go for me. I’ve included a few from the day. Nice horses. Good riders. Hope you enjoy this weeks collection.
This week The Boy and I were out and about. We both like road trips. We saw two large wall murals. One was called “Market Day”, the other “Dinner in the field”. My peony bush has decided it is time to bloom. It is about a month later than plants in the city. I spent some time with one blossom in Studio 13 using different backgrounds. I have a favorite wonder if you will? No barn would be complete without a barn cat and we have Barn Kitty, the tabby. She decided to come out and see what I was up to. We visited a man who I will call the Gopher Whistler. He does his whistle and gophers come from all over for the bread he feeds them. For him they are very tame. The are cute but can cause a lot of damage. Here are shots from our week, again, a bit of everything. Hope to see you next week.
