Exploring the World – One Image at a Time

Lensbaby Composer

PWP week of Sept 24 – Sept 30 23

I’ve posted a variety of shots this week. I thought it would be a bare bones post but I got lucky. I had time to fill so went to one of my favorite places – Regina Floral Conservatory. It didn’t disappoint. Beautiful fall decorations and the flowers were awesome. There is a new horses sport, or new to me. I went to watch a polocrosse clinic. Here is a link that explains it if anyone is interested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polocrosse To many things to think about at once for me. I love finding murals in unexpected places and that I did with the ones of the Girl Guides. I was one once upon a time. The fine art I saw in a public place and was quite taken with it. The Eiffel Tower I found close to home. It was featured a Kit Kat bar. I took a few almost night one of the moon and Josie. For some of the shots this week I used a Lens Baby soft focus lens. I love the effect it gives. There are shots a fox that is hanging around, a lady bug, new growth and some miscellaneous ones. Enjoy. PWP week of May 21 – May 27 23

Last week of May. Weeks are flying by. I don’t have rain drops on roses but have rain drops on other flora. Even caught a white butterfly feeding on a dandelion. Used my Lensbaby lens for a few shots. It was used it for most of the shots of Chase. We have an invisible fence around 6 acres for the yard to keep the dogs safe. The one of Chase’s head is him waiting by the boundary for me to come back to the yard. I used ICM (in camera movement) for the cherry blossom shot. Was pleased with the result. I caught one gorgeous sunrise this week. Of course we have pups at play. Our lilacs are just starting to bloom and they are beautiful. Our lilac bushes are foundation ones and the fragrance is wonderful. Wonder what this week will bring. I know there will be a special post. Watch for it.  For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. Click on the image and then right click to move thru the gallery

PWP week of May 7 – May 13 23

This week if all about spring. It’s here. Trees are greening up and grass is green in most places. Caught some crocuses before they left for another year. They don’t last long. Next will come the roses. On the way home. i caught a sea creature in the creek. Not sure but I think it was a muskrat. I took the camera with my Lensbaby on it out for some shots. A couple Mourning doves hung out in the yard for awhile. Also a fox decided to have a nap in the manure pile. Till next week. Crocuses 2022

For 20+ years I’ve hunted crocuses just south of where I live. Thru the years I’ve had different 4 legged companions. This year I had a new companion. Chase accompanied me on my journery. My heart ached for the ones that were there but only in memory. Life goes on. Another change is I decided to take artistic shots. I carried my lensbaby lens with various optics. I hope you enjoy the images I was able to create. Click on the image and it will enlarge, then arrow thru the gallerymusing on the arrows on either side.

PWP Week of July 26 2020

Happy August 1.  Happy long weekend to my Canadian friends.  And a good friend is celebrating a birthday.  Birthday wishes coming your way.

This week’s collection is mixture of images.  There was no travelling, spent some time in Studio 13.  Practicing with my Lensbaby Composer.  Our flowers are starting to bloom so I have lots to practice on.   I’ve included a few barrel racing and rodeo ones taken the weekend of July 18.  The one of the steer wrestle did quite well on Instagram. My assistant the Trail Camera caught an encounter between the resident fox and our visiting raccoon.

I’m thinking of creating a “Western Images” page of rodeo, barrel racing, western accessories and horses.  And a “Treasures and Keepsake” page.  I’ve included a few of these shots in this week’s collection.

PWP Week of June 14 2020

Happy Sunday.  We hope you had a good week.  The Boy and I did.  For a while I’ve been planning putting a photo studio in the barn.  It’s not very elaborate but I am having fun with it. The Boy lays and watching as I change background, bring out more props, make adjustments, probably thinking going for a walk taking pictures would be more fun!  It stays cool in the barn, so it is a good place for both of us to hang out when it gets hot out or windy!  On Tuesday a friend/ photographer came over and we practiced with props and backgrounds.  She has a very creative mind and wonderful props. I hope she visits again!  We used old calendars for backgrounds and they worked wonderful. If  you have old calendars lying around needing a home, please contact me.  Prairiewindphotography3@gmail.com    I promise they will be treated well.  My iris plant is providing blooms now.  I spent some time trying different background with one of the blossoms.  Scrapbooking pages work great for these backgrounds.  A while ago I acquired a Lensbaby Composer with various optics.  I did some practicing with it once I assembled the studio. I am looking forward to doing more.  I already have some favourite optics.  The Boy and I went on a road trip.  Came across the goose and duck family.  Imagine a family of nine. The wild roses are in full bloom.  Each morning as we walk I find more to photography. Soon they will be gone and something will take their place.  My assistant – the trail camera caught the curious young buck.   We have three bucks and a doe that visit often. The only credit I can take for this one is positioning the camera!

I hope you enjoy this week’s collection.  See you next week!
