Crocuses 2025
Each year I say no more. For 25+ years a dog and I have gone crocus hunting so I have more than enough photos of these cheerful little flowers. This year was no different. I have more shots to add to my collection of these spring blossoms. I’m sharing this year’s addition. I hope you enjoy them. Click on the image and then right click to move thru the gallery. Flowers of Briercrest Farm
This summer in much of Canada has had very high daytime temperatures. I was able to spend some time in a beautiful flower patch that seemed to thieve in the heat. Thank you to the keepers of the flower patch at Briercrest Farm that allowed me to photograph these gems as I wandered. The lilies put on a magnificent show. I hope the flowers brings you as much joy as they did my camera and me! Enjoy! PWP Nov 19 – Nov 25 2023
I had the camera out a bit this week. The pups had their 3rd birthday so photos were a must. They’ve sure changed. All grown up, so fast. We had two huge Rottweilers visit one morning. Guess they were out for a tour. Thank goodness Chase respects his boundaries, and the visitors stayed on the road. They found their way home. While at the pet store one day, I saw that a Pet had taken her owner over to stock up on supplies. Either that or the Pet was driving the getaway car! A few mornings have been foggy hence the pretty trees. Spent some time at Agribition and saw part of the heavy horse pull. There was only 3 teams competing, and one was out when I got their. Once again the sky was beautiful. Such vivid colors. I spent a bit of time practicing post editing skills with a beautiful doll. More practice is needed. PWP week of Sept 24 – Sept 30 23
I’ve posted a variety of shots this week. I thought it would be a bare bones post but I got lucky. I had time to fill so went to one of my favorite places – Regina Floral Conservatory. It didn’t disappoint. Beautiful fall decorations and the flowers were awesome. There is a new horses sport, or new to me. I went to watch a polocrosse clinic. Here is a link that explains it if anyone is interested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polocrosse To many things to think about at once for me. I love finding murals in unexpected places and that I did with the ones of the Girl Guides. I was one once upon a time. The fine art I saw in a public place and was quite taken with it. The Eiffel Tower I found close to home. It was featured a Kit Kat bar. I took a few almost night one of the moon and Josie. For some of the shots this week I used a Lens Baby soft focus lens. I love the effect it gives. There are shots a fox that is hanging around, a lady bug, new growth and some miscellaneous ones. Enjoy. PWP Week of July 9 – July 15 23
July is half gone. Hard to believe. Some mornings here felt like October. Wouldn’t want to be waking up in a tent or under the stars. This week I went to the exhibit – Van Gogh and Beyond. It was wonderful. I could have spent all day at it. Highly recommend it. Along with the Scandinavian festival and the foxes, I’m doing to dedicate a page to the exhibit. I’m posting a few shots here as a tease. Along with them you will see dogs, skies, a shiny red Harley Davidson, sunflowers, my kitchen window and lived in living room. Most of the shots were taken with the 8mm fish-eye lens. It is a fun lens to pay with. Enjoy.

PWP Week of July 2 – July 8 23
It was a decent week. Nothing exciting, no major trips. Josie was the model of choice this week. She did well. Loves the water as you can see. Scruffy dropped by and allowed me to dress him up with glasses. It was a pretty bright day. Of course during the photo shot the wind decided to join us and ruffled his hair some. He tolerated that as well. Chase figured he should join in. Guess he figured someone was taking this job. The beautiful quilt was a gift from a friend and as it was wash day and the sun was out, it got to hang out on the line. Someone drew cut images a side walk in town. Wonder if anyone plays the game. I took the shots of the beautiful flowers on a trip into town (the furthest the went all week). That’s it for this week. Not exciting but pleasant. PWP week of Apr 9 – Apr 15 23
Feast or famine that’s the way it goes. This week there was numerous photo opportunities. Easter — Megs had a visit from her friend Candy Floss. Always a pleasure when friends drop in. Mother Nature tried to trick us into believing it was Christmas by showering us with a lot of wet white snow. The horses weren’t impressed. I don’t think anyone was. Thanks to social media I’m able to view other photographer’s work. The ones I really admire are the ones that visit animal shelter and provide photos to increase adoption. I could never do this. I’d end up bringing all the pets home and if not that, do a lot of crying. Those eyes would haunt me forever. So I’ve decided to practice my craft another way. I’m told I have more stuffed animals than most children so I’m going to put them to use. You may have met a few of my plush friends in previous posts. I’m going to stage them as I would an actual pet. It will be good practice for when I met a real model and it will be fun. In this post you will meet Rugs the golden lab puppy. Gus the hound and Fritz the poodle. Along with the real thing – Josie and Chase. I”ve been most fortunate in acquiring the book Dogtography by Kaylee Greer. It is wonderful. Hopefully I will be able to improve my skills some. The little squirrel was back for a short while. Lots to see this week. Hope you enjoy the shots.

It’s been a crazy week weather wise. Fog, quick blizzard, wind and ABOVE normal temps. Some of this weeks additions are from archives from a year ago.

PWP week of Jan 22 – Jan 28 23
January is flying by. 4th week — 4th posting. Hope you are enjoying them. Up and down week here. Nice weather than we were hit with a blizzard for a few hours one morning. It was over before I got out with the camera. This week is another week of variety. Dogs, Plush friends, still life, more frost and sky shots. Pips makes a friend and Megs gains a protector. Oh and a pretty bird. My bird expert tells me it is a Starling. We have two of them at the feeders. And now this weeks installment. PWP week of Jan 15 – 21 23
Mother Nature provided another week of beautiful frost. I wasn’t going to take more photos but …. like crocuses you can never has too many. I had a model for a few of the shots. She loves the winter weather. I also caught a furry white rabbit that had escaped from the toy box. She and I had fun and the pups joined in for awhile. Speaking of pups, there is a new pup in the kennel. Meet Pips. I’m sure you will be seeing more of her. One morning the the sun rise was spectacular and I had my camera handy. It was posted on my Facebook page and received many likes. There are other images that I capture during the week. All without leaving the farm. Hope you enjoy all. Click on the image and then right click to move thru the gallery. Comments are always welcome.

PWP week of Jan 8 – Jan 14 23
Off to a good start. Weather here for January has been exceptional. Above normal temperature and little snow. It was another week of foggy which equals beautiful hoar frost. This week we have a variety of shots. A bit of frost. Some of Saskatchewan’s beautiful skies. We did a bit of clean up burning so I was able to get some shots of the fire. A few shots from a trip to the city. Not sure what the men were creating in the park but there is a “Frost” festival coming up so I’m guessing it pertains to that. A pair of gloves didn’t make it home. A horse in a store! The Chinese restaurant we visited still had their Christmas tree up. Off course the Pups show up in this weeks lineup. Looking forward to collecting next weeks shots. 50 weeks to go. Can I make it? Enjoy this collection. We went on a road trip and the porcupine was in the ditch along the was I put one on Facebook and it has been well like. Hope you enjoy them. Calendar for 2023
For many years now, almost to many to count, I’ve create calendars from the years photos. Sometimes as gifts and always one for our wall at home. This year I’m sharing the one that is now hanging on our wall. These are in random order, not by month.

Destiny
You’ve done all the right things. Practiced practiced and more practice. The day of the competition arrives and the Universe is not working on your side. Disheartening yes but remember you’ve done your best. There will another day and all will be right with the Universe. Other days, other races and other winning runs.
Easter
As Easter is time to be thankful and rejoice. I am thankful for the dogs that shared their lives with me. Thankful for the willing models they were for this photographer. Some were just naturals and the others learned how to behave when the camera travelled with us and that was most of the time on our walks. Now I have two new ones (15 months old) and they are coming along nicely. The handsome fellow posing for the Easter card is Tux. He came to us as a 3 or 4 year old rescue. He fit into life with the photographer as if he’d been special requested. As with ALL my models and friends, he is truly missed.

Fun with friends
I was looking for an image, from among many and I found a folder names Play 2014. Of course I had to see what gems it held. And I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t know when or why my creativity or ability to take fun shots ended but I haven’t created anything like this for a long time. I hope they bring a smile to your face. I know they did mine. Enjoy!
New Western Images
Western Images pages has had new content added. Check it out to view some rodeo action. Here are a few as teasers. Enjoy

PWP Week of August 16 2020
We find ourselves only at the midpoint of August and already there are signs of fall. The golden rod has been blossoming for a few weeks. Rose hips are forming on the bushes. And the crops are ripening more each day. I like fall but not so much what follows. I went to a town close to where I live and found large statues carved from wood. I think if I remember correctly they were made using a chain saw. On the same trip I found two more plush animals to add to my collection. One of these days I will have to make a page for all in my collection. I found a wonderful stone church. All the work to place each stone. Have you ever found images blended in with the stones? If you look careful you can see the image of an old style ladies shoe. I’ve included a few more rodeo shots just to round this week’s contribution out. Hope you enjoy contribution. Follow me Instagram account – Wilma Olmsted for more Western Images. Til next week.
