Auld Lang Syne
The song that will been sung across the world at midnight. The old Scottish ballad written in 1788. Some people will raise a toast to the new year 2025. Some will look at the clock, see it is midnight, mumble the words to the song, turn over and go back to sleep. Others, me probably being in that group won’t welcome 2025 til I wake up in the morning. However you celebrate the new year, Happy New Year!!! No new year’s resolutions in this house. The only constant happening is the new calendar, as it has for almost 30 years. Below are the shots which we will enjoy this year as the months go by. Starting with the cover! I hope you enjoy the picks for 2025. Look forward to sharing my photography with you in 2025.

November 24th
A birthday was celebrated on November 24th. Josie and Chase turned 4 years old. They entered our lives in February 2021. The years together have flown by.
PWP week of Dec 17 – Dec 23
We are having such beautiful weather it feels like Easter not Christmas. Are you ready for the day? I enjoy seeing all the different ways and decorations on display this time of year. A small town Saskatchewan has a wonderful light display. The night I went in not all the lights were turned on. Josie and Chase took time to pose for a Christmas picture. Maybe next year’s Christmas card? I caught one of Chase sleeping, as he breathed, his whiskers moved. Horses eyes are truly windows to the soul, I enjoying capturing them. The last photo before Christmas is one of Bandit dressed for the season. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas.

PWP week of Dec 10 – Dec 16 23
Another week had flown by, leaving me in the dust. This week we have another assortment. Christmas shots of course. And dogs. Megs came to visit and Josie proved to be an excellent babysitter. She has her babysitting certificate and is working hard to be the top of Santa’s good list. Presents arrived and one had Snoopy wrapping paper. It is a really good description of winter fun. Took my camera to town one afternoon and cruised main street. Also found a really good use to old tractor tires. Never know what I’ll find. Enjoy. PWP Nov 19 – Nov 25 2023
I had the camera out a bit this week. The pups had their 3rd birthday so photos were a must. They’ve sure changed. All grown up, so fast. We had two huge Rottweilers visit one morning. Guess they were out for a tour. Thank goodness Chase respects his boundaries, and the visitors stayed on the road. They found their way home. While at the pet store one day, I saw that a Pet had taken her owner over to stock up on supplies. Either that or the Pet was driving the getaway car! A few mornings have been foggy hence the pretty trees. Spent some time at Agribition and saw part of the heavy horse pull. There was only 3 teams competing, and one was out when I got their. Once again the sky was beautiful. Such vivid colors. I spent a bit of time practicing post editing skills with a beautiful doll. More practice is needed. PWP week of Nov 5 – Nov 11 23
The days, weeks are just clicking by. The weather has been exceptionally mild which makes everything better. Except, rain in November is never nice. The roofing we have on our house/barn grows some really long icicles and icy patches on the step which i discovered last night. All is good just a bit tender. Another thing I discovered yesterday, not only is Chase a good model, his beautiful coat makes an awesome back ground. Jewelry and treasures always are fun to preserve. I captured a pretty young lady out with her pup this week. I have a plant in the south winter I’m trying to keep healthy til spring. So far so good. Once again my assistant the trail camera was on the job and caught the coyote as he went thru the pasture. PWP week of Oct 15 – Oct 21 23
Another week to fly by. This one spent fencing and getting ready for winter. We still have a few trees with leaves on. They are hanging on pretty well. I’m adding more fall shots to my collection. Some trees are bare now. What a difference. More sky shots. Maybe the time of year but the skies have been spectacular. Josie was keeping track of the fencing crew one afternoon. I’d did a shot on black of Chase this week. He always looks so pensive. Went on a road trip to a library this week. Book sale. They had a display of Lego creations. Very creative. They also had a 3d printing machine. Didn’t see it in action but the dragon is one that was printed. Would loved to have seen it work, but ….. A couple flowers this week. That’s it for another week. PWP week of Oct 8 – Oct 14 23
Frost on the pumpkin this morning. We’ve had a few mornings with frost. A fungi, I’m not familiar with the names of mushroom, but one decided to grow on the edge of our gravel road. It lasted for a number of days until someone ran over it. We’ve had some colorful skies this week. A lot of pink/red in the clouds. I was out with my dish soap and water combating the maple bugs and created some huge bubblies. They lasted a while too. As I drove down the road one morning, this beautiful cat was in the field. There were a couple of farms in the area so I hope it made it back home. Houses are starting to decorate for Halloween. I stopped to get a shot of one, I will see if I can capture more of the spooky creativity. Finally I was able to get a decent shot of the moon and a star thanks to a Udemy Night Photography course. Now I’m just waiting for a full moon. Of course there are dog pictures. Josie and her favorite ball and the pair of them posing. We’ve had some strong winds but the leaves are holding on so I keeping capturing them as one day they will be gone. Our resident fox and been traveling through the barn yard as this shot shows. I managed to shot a bit of variety hope you enjoy the shots. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP week of Oct 1 – Oct 7 23
Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian followers. Mother Nature is smiling on us this long weekend with nice weather and we thank her. There are still colorful leaves on some trees as you will see some this weeks posts. Plus beautiful horses. Dunny was away from the herd for four weeks and as you will see he wasn’t welcomed back into the herd. In a few days it will be like he never left. The stone building used to be a school many many years ago. I guess roofs weren’t made to last. The walls sure wear. A beaver has taken up residence in our dugout. Haven’t seen it yet but will be on the watch for it. I was bored sitting in the truck so we have a shot of a fly. Josie and Chase are in this weeks post. They are both turning into pretty good models. Hope up enjoy this weeks offering. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP week of Sept 24 – Sept 30 23
I’ve posted a variety of shots this week. I thought it would be a bare bones post but I got lucky. I had time to fill so went to one of my favorite places – Regina Floral Conservatory. It didn’t disappoint. Beautiful fall decorations and the flowers were awesome. There is a new horses sport, or new to me. I went to watch a polocrosse clinic. Here is a link that explains it if anyone is interested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polocrosse To many things to think about at once for me. I love finding murals in unexpected places and that I did with the ones of the Girl Guides. I was one once upon a time. The fine art I saw in a public place and was quite taken with it. The Eiffel Tower I found close to home. It was featured a Kit Kat bar. I took a few almost night one of the moon and Josie. For some of the shots this week I used a Lens Baby soft focus lens. I love the effect it gives. There are shots a fox that is hanging around, a lady bug, new growth and some miscellaneous ones. Enjoy. PWP week of Sept 17 – Sept 23 23
Wow, one more week in September! This month has gone by in a blink of an eye. Lots of colorful leaves this week. We’ve been having strong winds and the leaves are falling fast so I took advantage of the remaining one as I don’t know how long they will be hanging around! Had company one day this week and we toured a couple small towns. I don’t know what the Lady in White represented but she looked nice. There are always treasures to be found. We’ve had a fox going thru the yard setting the dogs off. Could be one that was raised here in the spring. Usually they don’t come back. My assistant – the trail camera caught a couple shots of it. Not Geographic quality but nice to have. It was a quite week, which I know I will have more of, so I persuaded a couple models from the toy-box to work with me. We have some birds and of course dogs – both Chase and Josie. Enjoy! For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP week of Sept 10 – Sept 16 23
This was a slow week for the camera and I. Sometimes life keeps interfering with my fun time. My little earth mover provided some entertainment. Think she was digging to china the way she went at the job. I knew where the birdhouses lived and thought I’d share the creative designs. Some are very artistic. They do brighten the area up! Mother Nature provided color. Don’t see many shades of red but lots of varied yellow. The leaves are fallen fast as we’ve had a few strong winds. Our hummingbirds are on their way south but a robin is still with us. A few garden adornments are still in gardens and not put away for the season. Had to share the happy little dog! Someone must have been partying on the road I drive and left behind a dead soldier. Hope you enjoy this weeks offering. PWP week of Aug 27 – Sept 2 23
September has arrived. And it’s a warm. Combining is in full swing. A couple days of rest was has we had some rain. I’ve posted shots of the young hawk that has been sitting on the fence post. Then it move to the road and wouldn’t move when a car passed. It hadn’t been seen for sometime and I feared the worst but I finally saw him sitting in the field. I waited and then it flew away and I knew it would be fine. One of the pet stores I shop at has their Halloween costumes for pets out on display already. Some are cute. I don’t think my two would appreciate being dressed up. I stopped by the Water Fowl Park in the city one morning. City Canada geese are sure loud, aggressive and bossy. There were a few ducks but mostly geese. The pelicans were smart enough not to hang around the park. Chase has discovered looking out the upstairs bedroom window gives him a bird’s eye view. Got a few action shots of him. Of course! On one of the smoky days, there’s been quite a few, I caught a crop duster plane out desiccating fields. He comes in pretty low. Not sure what the trucker thought. As you will see, our house is prepared for the cold season. Hope you get out and enjoy the long weekend. PWP week of Aug 20 – Aug 26 23
Late again, I apologize. It was National/International, I saw it as both, Dog day so I was working on a good shot of the kids. I ended up using one I’d taken with my phone awhile ago. However, you get to see a few of the practice shots. Chase is turning into quite the model. Close to home there is a field of buffalo, I’m sure you have figured that out by now. The bull was close to the fence on one of our drives and he is BIG. I don’t understand why the tourists in Yellowstone want to get near them. The buffalo are scary. So are the tourists. There must be a colony or gathering of Mourning Doves along our route, as there are always a lot of they flying around. I did manage to get some on the fence as you will see. Road trip, road trip. Went for a Sunday drive with friends and ended up a flea market. Lots of goodies. If you ever come upon Fuller Moon Walker bath salts and like baths. Buy some, they are wonderful. That’s it for this week. Enjoy. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP week of Aug 13 – Aug 19 23
Another week in the books or photo album. No great features. Created an “on black” shot of Chase. He lays with his head on a paw and always looks so pensive. The route we take for our morning drive goes past the buffalo pasture so they are always reedy models. By the corner where we turn to come home there has been a young hawk for the past few days It’s not to sure about flying away from it’s perch and having me there drives mom crazy. She is in the air above me screaming. The last trip the youngster did move from one fence post to another. Saw an unrelated hawk on our drive one morning. More hummingbird shots. Some were taken with my phone thru the window. The purple wedding decorations were in a store I visited. Wonder if purple if THE color this year! One morning Chase tracked down a little muskrat. Removed Chase from the scene; caught the muskrat and carried it to the dugout and watched the little guy swim away. That was enough excitement at 6:30 in the morning for one day. More dog shots. Hope you enjoy this weeks contribution. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP Week of July 30 – August 5 23
Wow — the weeks are flying by. Summer is half over. Sad to say but I’m starting to see signs of fall in my area. Golden rod is blooming; bull rushes in full glory, leaves are changing colors. Our two hummingbirds, which you’ll see, seem to be fueling up. All way to early. This week includes shots of — dogs, Josie and Sassy, the moon, lentils – does anyone make lentil soup. This is what they look like before they reach the pot! I’ve included a few shots from a Mid Summer festival I attended. Great day. A couple tracks to see if I have any trackers following me. Pretty easy to figure out. I don’t know if is the time of year but the skies lately have been gorgeous. One lone horse photo and this would be of my boy Quill. Hope you enjoy this weeks selection. PWP Week of July 9 – July 15 23
July is half gone. Hard to believe. Some mornings here felt like October. Wouldn’t want to be waking up in a tent or under the stars. This week I went to the exhibit – Van Gogh and Beyond. It was wonderful. I could have spent all day at it. Highly recommend it. Along with the Scandinavian festival and the foxes, I’m doing to dedicate a page to the exhibit. I’m posting a few shots here as a tease. Along with them you will see dogs, skies, a shiny red Harley Davidson, sunflowers, my kitchen window and lived in living room. Most of the shots were taken with the 8mm fish-eye lens. It is a fun lens to pay with. Enjoy.

PWP Week of July 2 – July 8 23
It was a decent week. Nothing exciting, no major trips. Josie was the model of choice this week. She did well. Loves the water as you can see. Scruffy dropped by and allowed me to dress him up with glasses. It was a pretty bright day. Of course during the photo shot the wind decided to join us and ruffled his hair some. He tolerated that as well. Chase figured he should join in. Guess he figured someone was taking this job. The beautiful quilt was a gift from a friend and as it was wash day and the sun was out, it got to hang out on the line. Someone drew cut images a side walk in town. Wonder if anyone plays the game. I took the shots of the beautiful flowers on a trip into town (the furthest the went all week). That’s it for this week. Not exciting but pleasant. PWP Week of June 25 – July 1 23
This week we have an assortment of shots. I went to a farmer’s market and what a display of treasure to be seen. Not many veggies for sale but I wasn’t there when gates opened so maybe missed them. Did score some new potatoes and little cucumbers. Politely asked a man if I could take a picture of this dog. His is the little gray one with lots of hair. I cringle thinking about looking for ticks on it. The black and white dog belongs to a friend. A wonderfully smart border collie Australian shepherd. I stopped by the Hansen Ross House -Artists in Residence as the artists had displays out side. Wonderful work. I bought a couple items from C. Ingrid Deringer. Here is a link to her website https://www.ingridderinger.com/ Look under Ging Ging designs if you like whimsical. I had my fish-eye lens out for awhile. It takes awesome sky shots. It can make my dogs look kind’ve goofy. The roses I bought for an event. They sure didn’t last long. How long can you sit watching a gopher hole? Chase sat quite awhile. I have more fox pics but have decided to do a post of just foxes. I’m sure one of these days Mom will move them. I am downsizing my prop collection and taking shots of them be fore they leave. Hence the doll. You may be seeing more of such shots. That’s it for this week. Wonder what next week will bring. Enjoy. PWP week of June 18 – June 24 23
This week is just about foxes. Once again mother fox had her litter across the road under the bins. With the help of my trusty assistant the trail camera, along with my DSLR, I was able to get some shots of the little ones. Chase was the model of the week again. I’ve been watching some dog photography experts on You Tube and we did a bit of practicing. Slowly he is learning. All good things take time. We are having fun and strengthening the bond between us. Enjoy. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP week of June 7 – June 10 23
Weather wise was about the same this week but was able to get out and click the shutters. We have Chase looking down to China and one of his pretty paws, A butterfly landed on the deck and stayed long enough to have her picture taken. I found a home for some of my photo props so I took a few more shots of the before they left, I’m thinking I should have keep the little rabbit but he is gone now. Tis rose season now. I got a few shots of them. They don’t last long. My assistant the trail camera took the shots of the magpie and the fox. She doesn’t look in a great a shape. I image she is nursing several little ones. She sets the dogs off barking some nights. I had a grad/family photo shot this week. It went well. I’m hoping to post some of the shots in my portfolio page. The little boy blowing bubblies is from the same shot. A weather system was moving in quite fast so I didn’t get as many images of the bubble boy as I had hoped. Maybe next time. For those of you who don’t know, I’m living on the farm I grew up on. This year school age children have moved into the district so the school goes by same time , same road as it did when I walked out to the road to catch it to go to school (different driver). Memories. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. Click on the image and then right click to move thru the gallery.
