I’ve posted a variety of shots this week. I thought it would be a bare bones post but I got lucky. I had time to fill so went to one of my favorite places – Regina Floral Conservatory. It didn’t disappoint. Beautiful fall decorations and the flowers were awesome. There is a new horses sport, or new to me. I went to watch a polocrosse clinic. Here is a link that explains it if anyone is interested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polocrosse To many things to think about at once for me. I love finding murals in unexpected places and that I did with the ones of the Girl Guides. I was one once upon a time. The fine art I saw in a public place and was quite taken with it. The Eiffel Tower I found close to home. It was featured a Kit Kat bar. I took a few almost night one of the moon and Josie. For some of the shots this week I used a Lens Baby soft focus lens. I love the effect it gives. There are shots a fox that is hanging around, a lady bug, new growth and some miscellaneous ones. Enjoy. This week was this Photographers dream week. Remember I talked about feast and famine? Well this was definitely a feast week. I attended a day of gymkhana and got shots of the stars of the arena. A few contestants also. The crops are turning fast and I love the variants in color. We have buffalo living close and we visited them a couple of times. Chase wasn’t impressed. We found a few bushes of buffalso berries. They make great jelly for pork! The hawk you will see is a very upset mother as her child just sat on a fence post as I approached. She was not impressed. One morning on our mini tour we saw a mule deer doe and her youngster. On the creek near home there is a congregation of pelicans and a couple of herons. Hope you enjoy this weeks offering as much as we enjoyed finding the shots. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. This season of photo opportunies has been pretty well nixed. Everything cancelled. Spring in the country can provide lots of photography but sometimes Mother Nature is slow in providing them. Around where I live we’ve had a lot of wind and it’s been cold. The crocuses finally covered the hills, now the lilacs are blooming here. My trail camera managed to pull up some of the slack and recorded shots I never would have been able to capture. However, the animals have been slow in returning also.
I hope you enjoy theses shots of two young bucks, my assistant the trail camera was able to catch. Hopefully we see more of them.
I am very fortunate to live where I live. So many photo opportunities. There is a family of closes living very close to the farmstead. I imagine they are related to the ones that have live close for a number of years. I think I read once that the female will return to where she was born to raise her young. For what ever reason, I am so glad they are close. Watching the Kitts play is like having a basket of puppies. These photos were taken with a Browning Trail Camera. It has been set up by the den long before the Kitts arrived. They just think it is part of the scenery. There are five Kitts in total. They don’t seem to play outside together all the time. This may be a survival mode. I read (yes I do a lot of reading) that out of six only two or three will live to September. Yes Mother Nature can be cruel. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I do.
It is amazing how fast these pretty little purple flowers appear. The Boy (last picture) and I have been hunting them for about a week. We found two, two days ago. Missed going to our favorite hunting spot yesterday and went down today and were greet with lots of happy faces turned to greet the sun. I hope you enjoy what we discovered. By clicking on the thumbnail, the images with enlarge and you can then move thru the gallery. Enjoy.
