Exploring the World – One Image at a Time

Moon

PWP week of Oct 29 – Nov 4 23

I hope everyone had a fun safe Halloween. This week is another mixed bag. Weather wasn’t great. We had sun, freezing rain, fog and snow. Time to set up Studio 13. I’m not a cold weather kind’ve gal. The magpie and coyote were taken by my assistant the Trail Camera. Hope you enjoy this weeks’ offering.

PWP week of Oct 8 – Oct 14 23

Frost on the pumpkin this morning. We’ve had a few mornings with frost. A fungi, I’m not familiar with the names of mushroom, but one decided to grow on the edge of our gravel road. It lasted for a number of days until someone ran over it. We’ve had some colorful skies this week. A lot of pink/red in the clouds. I was out with my dish soap and water combating the maple bugs and created some huge bubblies. They lasted a while too. As I drove down the road one morning, this beautiful cat was in the field. There were a couple of farms in the area so I hope it made it back home. Houses are starting to decorate for Halloween. I stopped to get a shot of one, I will see if I can capture more of the spooky creativity. Finally I was able to get a decent shot of the moon and a star thanks to a Udemy Night Photography course. Now I’m just waiting for a full moon. Of course there are dog pictures. Josie and her favorite ball and the pair of them posing. We’ve had some strong winds but the leaves are holding on so I keeping capturing them as one day they will be gone. Our resident fox and been traveling through the barn yard as this shot shows. I managed to shot a bit of variety hope you enjoy the shots. For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM. PWP week of Sept 24 – Sept 30 23

I’ve posted a variety of shots this week. I thought it would be a bare bones post but I got lucky. I had time to fill so went to one of my favorite places – Regina Floral Conservatory. It didn’t disappoint. Beautiful fall decorations and the flowers were awesome. There is a new horses sport, or new to me. I went to watch a polocrosse clinic. Here is a link that explains it if anyone is interested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polocrosse To many things to think about at once for me. I love finding murals in unexpected places and that I did with the ones of the Girl Guides. I was one once upon a time. The fine art I saw in a public place and was quite taken with it. The Eiffel Tower I found close to home. It was featured a Kit Kat bar. I took a few almost night one of the moon and Josie. For some of the shots this week I used a Lens Baby soft focus lens. I love the effect it gives. There are shots a fox that is hanging around, a lady bug, new growth and some miscellaneous ones. Enjoy. PWP Week of July 30 – August 5 23

Wow — the weeks are flying by. Summer is half over. Sad to say but I’m starting to see signs of fall in my area. Golden rod is blooming; bull rushes in full glory, leaves are changing colors. Our two hummingbirds, which you’ll see, seem to be fueling up. All way to early. This week includes shots of — dogs, Josie and Sassy, the moon, lentils – does anyone make lentil soup. This is what they look like before they reach the pot! I’ve included a few shots from a Mid Summer festival I attended. Great day. A couple tracks to see if I have any trackers following me. Pretty easy to figure out. I don’t know if is the time of year but the skies lately have been gorgeous. One lone horse photo and this would be of my boy Quill. Hope you enjoy this weeks selection. PWP week of Apr 30 – May 6 23

This week if a feast week. I have lots to share. The usual environmental shots are included. Things that have caught my interest. How man flavors of milkshakes can there be? The lovely little purple flowers are out. Chase and I went hunting them one day Geese are on the move. The shot of Chase and Ninja was taken from a distance thru a garden window to is on the soft side. I included it because I liked it. Caught a shot of the famous V formation. Of course there are shots of dogs and horses. What really padded this weeks post was a visit to the Water Fowl Part in Regina. It was mainly Canadian geese but did find a couple of duck, some pigeons and a rabbit went scooting by as I was leaving. I have never seen red catkins before. Was told they grown on either a poplar tree or aspen. There was a goose feeding in the water and it could kept it’s head under for a long time. Enjoy. PWP week of Apr 16 – Apr 22 23

We have another good old storm the end of this week but no pictures will be posted. That season is over. I did get some shots of the spring run off before the storm. Josie loves the water. I did get a shot of angel wings and wonder if they belonged to my Guardian Angel. The one I keep pretty busy! And the same evening a jet flew over. I always wonder where they are off to when they pass over. This week you meet Scruffy. He is a mixed terrier breed. He had just escaped from the toy box and we stopped at the Conservatory. The Conservatory is always a great time. Having a new friend along made it extra special. Hope you enjoy this weeks offering. PWP week of Feb 26 – Mar 4 23

Already into March. This week went by fast. I’m still trying to get good shots of the moon. Had better luck this week. A special guest dropped by the ranch this week. MK from the Meerkat Colony stopped in to see us. He visited the horses. Received a kiss from Katie. The horses weren’t sure what to make of him. He and Chase had a talk, probably about what is see while he was here. He covered a lot of ground while he was here. He is a bit of a cheeky fellow. One morning we had crystal frost which is always fun to capture.  For those of you who follow my posts, I try and have the content posted by 9:00 (CST) Sunday AM.
